Back from Freusburg
We're back from Filkcontinental. Well at least I am, Peredar is on his way home to Aachen right now, dropping his parentd' car halfways and travelling on by train - luckily they won't be on strike before friday... And here I am, all happy and tired and without having caught a cold, though of course it may come along during the next days.
I need a decent cup of tea and a decent sleep, but we had Chinese lunch on our way home, which was really great. But don't expect a con report right now. There were so many things I loved that I couldn't possibly write all of them down now. The music was great, and the guests were great - but I think the very best thing about this con was realizing I was with friends, and I went there to be with friends. There are so many folk festivals I could attend, I bet the music there's great at well - but I go to FilkContinental, not only for the music but for the people. It's friends. And what great friends they are! Aryana and gang even gave us the black plague! I just loved it. All of it.

BIG HUG! And for next time, remember: More pills don't help you through the night. BTW, don't know how long you prepared on Sunday, it definitely sounded great!

We prepared for about half an hour, this contained teaching Silva "Schattenreiter", which she had never heard before, and the arrangement for the MadHatter-song.
I was suprised myself on the speed in which Silva and me managed to stage these songs - the same goes for the contest song - because if we meet for a weekend rehersal, and we usually really spend most of the time rehersing, we get about the same amount done... But it gave me an idea of why I teamed up with Silve these seven years ago. If I've got a new song to arrange, she immediately gets the idea of what I had in mind and simply does it. Gee, I love that woman!

Seems much like the collaboration of Yooh and me ... we are basically well "in each others musical minds", so arrangements of new songs work really well and quickly.
Yay for good teams!

Aryana and gang even gave us the black plague!
Cough. Oh, that's what it is, and here I thought it was just the flu. Cough. With such friends ... *Evil grin*

It was a great con. For me was also my first trip to Germany and probably the best time I've ever had.

I wanted to say that I bought your CD a while before the con, but didn't think to look at the web site until after I got back home. There I found the helpful PDFs with chords and all. I have to say, "Courted by a Blackbird" has been delightfully well received over here in Milwaukee and Chicago.
