Me and my Banjo
O ye unfaithful, worship me! Not only did I manage to tune my Banjo - I also managed to play "Coldwater Spring" on it!

It's a Framus Tenor Banjo my father gave to me two years ago and I never played it, even forgot how it was tuned - it's G D A E now - and I have no idea how to play it. Today I started immitating my father's picking style, playing a kind of impro on the tune, and it sounds quite well - unless I start singing. Then I realize that voice and banjo are doing almost the same...
So, I still don't know what to do with that banjo. But at least it's in tune now.

Es gibt en Banjo
Wie Geige gestimmt,
Und wer darauf spielt
Singt wie ein Rind.

Sorry, that's really bad. :)

Uhm. I bought a cornamuse on a medieval fair that's not even in tune.
I tried to play it, but it sounds all weird.

A banjo? Sounds interesting - one more thing to look forward to at next year's FilkCONtinental. Perhaps we should persuade Valerie Housden to bring her banjo as well...duelling banjos anyone?
